Apple has updated its line of all-in-one iMac computers. New 27-inch models, said in the press release, are “the most powerful in history.”
The design of aimaks remained intact – they still have the same black frame around the screen and a high “chin” with the Apple logo. Only the hardware was “pumped” to the computers. The devices received the latest 10th generation Intel Comet Lake processors, and the FaceTime webcam resolution has been increased from 720p to 1080p.
The new iMac 27’s top-of-the-range features double the amount of RAM, the next-generation AMD GPU (claimed 55% faster graphics processing over the Radeon Pro 5000 series) than the previous generation, and four SSDs. times the capacity (up to 8 terabytes).
In addition, the new aimags received a 2nd generation Apple T2 security chip, which encrypts data stored on the drive and monitors the integrity of programs. The T2 now allows, for example, to call the voice assistant with the phrase “Hey Siri”, but you still cannot unlock the computer using Face ID or a fingerprint.
Other improvements include screen support for True Tone technology, which automatically adjusts color temperature based on ambient light, and new “studio-quality recording” microphones.
The update also applies to the 21.5-inch iMac and iMac Pro. All iMac 21.5s now come standard with SSDs, while iMac Pros come with a 10-core Intel Xeon processor by default.
Aimag prices have not changed. In the official online store Apple iMac 27 can be ordered at a price of 169,990 rubles, iMac 21.5 – from 99,990 rubles, iMac Pro – from 469,990 rubles.
