Applications for the 8th Saudi Film Festival can still be submitted today, officials said in a statement. The festival will be held at the King Abdulaziz Center for World Culture ‘Itra’ from June 2 to 9. The film festival was held last year with several limitations in the wake of the Kovid expansion. However, this time the authorities have decided to organize the fair in the presence of global film talents. This time the guest country is China.

Applications for the fair can be submitted through the festival website www.saudifilmfestival.org. The competition will be held in three categories namely Short Films, Feature Films and Non-Filmed Screenplays. The festival management had asked the Gulf filmmakers to attend the ‘Gulf Film Awards’ and nominate the best films.
If the jury selects the films they recommend, special prizes will be awarded. Book launches, seminars and workshops related to cinema will also be organized. The Dammam Branch of the Culture and Arts Association launched the Saudi Film Festival in 2008.
