Lack of means, impossible to avoid duck fleas
Researchers are struggling to identify the beaches at risk. However, for some bathers, stings are a source of painful problems.

While swimmers have recently complained of having been bitten by duck fleas at Eaux-Vives beach, at Tropical Corner or in the Rhône, Isabel Blasco-Costa, curator at the Museum of Natural History in Geneva and parasitologist, sheds light on the functioning of these animals, on the means of protecting against them and on the lack of projects set up to identify their presence.
