The government is asking people in red zones more than ever to avoid traveling to other areas. But did people listen to the Prime Minister?
For example, in Saint-Sauveur in the Laurentians, in the orange zone, throughout the day, there were dozens of them strolling on Principale Street, mostly locals.
They pretty much all had the same message for tourists and ask them to stay home.
“The people of Saint-Sauveur followed the instructions. Here, we do not have a case of COVID-19; an active case, we do not have one. We want to stay like that, ”says Mayor Jacques Gariépy.
Among the people we also met in Saint-Sauveur, some anti-masks who deny the existence of the pandemic.
In an interview with LCN, the Minister of Health Christian Dubé had a message for them.
“I repeat, we will have to hammer home the message, we must have more tickets among these people because most Quebecers are making efforts,” he said.
Quebec police officers showed up at the city limits to educate motorists about non-essential travel between regions.
