Arrested for leaving his debit card at the gas station he robbed

A man who had a vehicular incident entered through the back door to a store to take things that he needed.

According to a report from the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office, a Cocoa Beach resident was arrested after breaking into a gas station robbery.

The events occurred on the morning of Sunday, February 5 in Palm Coastwhere agents responded to the report of a commercial alarm set off at a gas station.

The store owner showed officers surveillance video showing a white man entering the back of the store.

The suspect took several items and then fled out the front door.

At the scene, agents found a debit card in the name of Lantz Kurtz on the counter and recognized the suspect in another case that occurred hours earlier in which a vehicle caught fire near the gas station.

Officers returned to the disabled vehicle and found 20-year-old Kurtz, who He admitted going into the store and said he left his debit card to come back later to pay for things.

Flagler County Sheriff Rick Staly noted that “h Leaving the debit card does not absolve you of committing theft.

The suspect was booked into the Flagler County Jail where he will face first degree robbery charges and a judge set him on $10,000 bond.
