Art stars mourn Hisham Selim in moving words

The death of the Egyptian actor Hisham Selim was a great shock to his fans in general and his colleagues in the artistic community in particular. His funeral yesterday witnessed a great turnout from the most important stars of Egypt and the Arab world.

His fans mourned him on social media, and their words affected a large number of social media pioneers.

Syrian actor Ayman Zaidan wrote: “Farewell, noble man.” We belong to God and to Him we shall return, and there is no power or strength except with God.

And the artist Sherihan expressed her sadness and despair over the death of her “soul mate” – as she said – so she published old photos collected by Hisham, and attached them to sentences that translated their strong friendship. My heart and embrace have been long for the past few days.”

And she continued: “Leave, my pure, honest, faithful, committed, respected, beautiful twin of my life… Go away, my friend, my colleague, my brother, go away, my love… But you have never left me forever in my heart, soul and history and we will meet.”

She concluded with a supplication, asking for rest for his soul: “Oh God, have mercy on that good soul that left the world and moved to your side. Oh God, forgive her and have mercy on her and pardon her, O Most Merciful of the merciful… O God, he testified that there is no god but you and that Muhammad is your servant and messenger and you know him. When asked… In God’s peace, mercy and his highest paradise, Hisham Selim.”

The artist, Magda El Roumi, bid farewell to Hisham, and wrote about her suffering after hearing the news, and shared with her followers details of her grief, saying: “How much my heart hurt you today with your early departure… Only yesterday we were and Youssef Chahine and the return of the prodigal son was cultivating her and the days of hope, other than the paths of life… How did it happen that time turned for us like this, and with the days pain became folds of pains and fear folds of fears.”

She added: “The return of the prodigal son that I lived through is a reality, pointing to the series of the deadly Lebanon wars and a replica of this beautiful movie… I lived it as a struggle for a better life, more beautiful art, and a more cohesive family… My friend, there are no words that I find expressing enough about my sadness today.” .

And the duty of condolences was offered by a group of stars of the Arab world, among whom we mention: Ashraf Zaki, Tariq Al-Nahry, Ilham Shaheen, Ahmed El-Sakka, Donia Samir Ghanem, Menna Shalaby, Abeer Sabri … and many others.

The artist, Hisham Selim, died at the age of 64, after a long struggle with cancer.
