In a study conducted by the American College of Rheumatology on people with rheumatoid arthritis, researchers noted that among 20 types of foods, sugar-sweetened soft drinks and sweets seemed most likely to exacerbate symptoms of the disease.

Food rich in salt
A 2019 mouse study conducted by researchers from the Yonsei University College of Medicine in South Korea found that arthritis was more severe in mice that ate a diet rich in salt compared to those whose diet contained less salt.
