LG has changed its mind many times before finally decide to update his televisions from 2018 to add native support for HomeKit and AirPlay 2. Based on readers of MacRumors, an update is available on these televisions. This is not the case on that of one of us and as always, the gradual deployment will be done over the weeks to come.
This update adds to that of last August, which activated the Apple TV app on these televisions. With this new update, LG TVs of 2018 will benefit from the full ecosystem provided by Apple: the Apple TV app for content, AirPlay 2 to stream videos from an iOS device or Mac, and HomeKit to manage the TV in the Home app.
This novelty concerns the connected OLED and SuperHD televisions designed by LG and of the 2018 generation. The following models with the same basic characteristics normally already benefit from these functions.
