The scene at the time of the arrest of rapper Yong-jun Jang, who was handed over to trial for refusing a request for a breathalyzer and assaulting a police officer, was released in court.

At the trial held by the Seoul Central District Court’s 4th independent trial, the prosecution played a video of Mr. Jang swearing and fighting with a police officer while not responding to a breathalyzer test.

In the video, Jang, who was arrested as a current offender, twisted and resisted on the road so as not to get into a patrol car, and the police handcuffed him to get him into the car.

Prosecutors also released a scene in which Jang assaulted a police officer’s head with his head in a patrol car, and in the video, the victim policeman screamed as if in pain.

The police officer who was present as a witness said, “I don’t know if I had hit once, but I thought it was intentional because I hit it twice in a row.”

On September 18, last year, Jang, the son of People’s Strength lawmaker Jang Je-won, was arrested at the scene on charges of assaulting a police officer while driving a Mercedes-Benz car on a road in Banpo-dong, Seocho-gu, Seoul.

Jang was sentenced to 1 year and 6 months in prison and 2 years of probation the following year for driving a car drunk while driving in Mapo-gu, Seoul in 2019.
