Daniil Medvedev (ATP 4) keeps control. As in the Paris-Bercy final eight days earlier, the Russian dominated Alexander Zverev (7). He beat him 6-3 6-4 for his first game at the London Masters.
In the first part of the initial set, the two players delivered a dantesque duel which was marked by endless and spectacular exchanges.
But at 3-2 for Medvedev, a score reached after more than half an hour of play, Zverev cracked by offering the break to the Russian on two double faults in a row. Medvedev jumped at the chance to confirm this break and then win this round 6-3.
In the second, Medvedev continued his dominance over Zverev, breaking 3-3 to then lead 5-3 and pocket the set on a shutout as well as the game in 1:29.
