Audio cassettes resist

They are discreet, scattered here and there in the shop. At the Balades Sonores record store in Paris, audio cassettes pale in comparison to boxes full of vinyl. However, the figures show it: the K7 is making a great comeback. “I don’t like to say that there is a ‘return’ of the cassette, because it never really disappeared”, supports Thomas Changeur, co-founder with Esther Marti of the record store.

On a small wall in the room, several of these small boxes (less than ten centimeters long) are exhibited. Hip-hop, rock and even pop, all genres are present. “We sell between 20 and 30 per month, a number that has increased in recent years, also because there are more and more new offers,” says Thomas Changeur, also a fan of audio cassettes.
