Automotive. Turkish Martur Fompack inaugurates the extension of its factory in Tangier Automotive City

Installed since 2020 in the free zone of Tanger Automotive City, backed by the Tanger Med port following an investment of 17.5 million euros, the Turkish group Martur Fompack, one of the main producers of car seats in the world, inaugurates, on Tuesday March 1, 2022, the extension of its factory.

Only two years after having invested 17.5 million euros during the establishment of its industrial unit with a covered area of ​​20,509 square meters in the free zone of Tanger Automotive City (TAC, backed by the Tanger Med port), the Turkish group Martur Fompack has just completed the extension of this factory over an additional area of ​​3,500 m². Thus, the Turkish group which manufactures seats and components for the automotive industry (headrests, armrests, visors, seat structures, etc.), in particular for the Renault Tangier and Somaca factories, will proceed with its inauguration. Tuesday, March 1, 2022.

This new investment will increase the number of jobs created from the current 724 to 1,000 in the long term, while the production capacity rises to 400,000 sets of vehicle interiors per year.

As a reminder, Martur Fompack International, founded in 1986, is today one of the world’s leading suppliers of automotive seat production. The group employs 6,000 people in 25 locations around the world, and has more than 200 customers in more than 40 countries, including Alfa Romeo, Volkswagen, Citroën, Audi, Lancia, Fiat and Maserati.
