Baldur’s Gate 3 contributors talk about the future of the game | Games

Larian Studios Shared Development Details Baldur’s Gate 3… The head of the studio, Sven Winke, spoke about the state of the game and plans for the future in an interview with Eurogamer.

The developers are not sure if they will be able to release the game in 2022, as they originally wanted. As Vincke noted, this is due to the large volume of content, as well as the need to improve and polish the cinematic scenes. At the same time, players will not be able to see the second act in early access – the authors of Baldur’s Gate 3 intend to add this content at release so as not to delay development.

The big sixth patch, which came out on October 15th and added a new sorcerer class and an entire Grimforge region to the game, won’t be the last. In a few months, Larian Studios is preparing to release at least one more update, adding content to explore in Early Access.

The authors of Baldur’s Gate 3 are also considering the possibility of releasing the game on consoles, but the studio will not do this until the release of the title version on PC. In addition, Vinke noted that he would like to see a split-screen cooperative mode in the game, but he is not sure that this will be implemented.

Baldur’s Gate 3 went into Early Access on October 6, 2020. The title was warmly received by usersdespite numerous technical problems.
