Basketball coach signs with Japan’s Kyoto Hanaris

The Canadian Roy Rana, the coach of the Egyptian national basketball team, contracted with Kyoto Hanaris, one of the Japanese teams that plays in the Western Region, to take over the technical mission for him, starting from next September.

Roy Rana will officially start his mission with Kyoto Hanaris, starting from next September, and he will be with the national team fully in the second and third phases of the African qualifiers for the World Cup, scheduled for next July and August.

Canadian Roy Rana will lead his new Japanese team Kyoto Hanaris in the 2022-2023 season, according to what the Japanese club announced on its official website.

The Canadian coach also agreed with his new Japanese team that next February he will be with the Egyptian national team to compete in the final stage of the World Cup qualifiers if we qualify for it.

In addition, if Roy Rana succeeds in leading the Egyptian team to qualify for the next edition of the World Cup, he will take over the technical task of the national team during the tournament competitions, according to his agreement with the Board of Directors of the Egyptian Basketball Association and the Japanese team Kyoto Hanaris.

The Burj Al Arab Hall in Alexandria will host the matches of the second phase of the fourth group in the World Cup qualifiers, which will be held next July.

Group D includes Egypt, Congo, Kenya and Senegal.

The Egyptian team will start its campaign against Senegal on July 1, then facing Kenya on July 2, and then facing Congo on July 3.

The top three winners of the group will qualify for the next stage of the World Cup qualifiers.

It is noteworthy that the national team led by Roy Rana had lost from Senegal and won over both Congo and Kenya in the first stage of the World Cup qualifiers, which was held in Dakar.
