Before COP26, states put pressure on the IPCC to modify its report

Ten days before COP26, BBC reveals how some countries are trying to lobby to change the international report on ways to tackle climate change by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, the IPCC. British public media has had access to a series of documents showing that Saudi Arabia, Japan and Australia, among other countries, are calling on the UN to downplay the need to move away from fossil fuels quickly. Some rich states, including Switzerland, are also opposed to the principle of financing the poorest countries to encourage them to adopt greener technologies.
