Many provincial public security chiefs lose their power in cross-provincial transfers

Zheng Yi, who previously served as secretary of the Xishuangbanna Prefecture Party Committee in Yunnan, has recently served as secretary of the party committee and chief inspector of the Liaoning Provincial Public Security Department.
Liu Kai, the former Vice Governor of Hebei Province, Secretary of the Party Committee and Director of the Public Security Department, has been transferred to Jilin Province and was appointed Vice Governor on May 7.

It is worth noting that Liu Kai, the former Vice Governor of Hebei Province, Secretary of the Party Committee and Director of the Public Security Department, was only appointed as Vice Governor after being transferred to Jilin. Xu Xianhui, the former Vice Governor of Hunan Province and Director of the Provincial Public Security Department, was transferred to Guangxi. Only the vice-chairman of the autonomous region loses the power of public security. The officials who were removed from the public security system include: Gao Yan, Secretary of the Party Committee of the Police Academy, Wang Yi, Commander of the Public Security Corps, Shi Zhanping, Commander of the Economic Investigation Corps, Wang Yuxia, Political Commissar of the Pinggu Branch, Che Yan, Political Commissar of the Shunyi Branch, Liu Peng, Political Commissar of the Daxing Branch, and Deputy Director of the Haidian Branch. In addition, the Ministry of Public Security of the Communist Party of China has recently made frequent efforts to clear out the “Sun Lijun political gang”. Other members of the “Sun Lijun political gang” that have been officially disclosed include Wang Like, the former secretary of the Jiangsu Political and Legal Committee, Gong Daoan, the former Shanghai Public Security Director, Deng Huilin, the former Chongqing Public Security Director, and Liu Xinyun, the former Shanxi Public Security Director.
Zeng Xin, former secretary of the Guangxi Political and Legal Committee of the Communist Party of China, Liu Yanping, former head of the discipline inspection team of the Ministry of State Security, and Wang Dawei, director of the Liaoning Provincial Public Security Department, were also accused of Sun Lijun’s case.
A commentator Wang Youqun once wrote an analysis in The Epoch Times that the backstage bosses of the “Sun Lijun political gang” are Meng Jianzhu, a former member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China and Secretary of the Central Political and Legal Committee, Zeng Qinghong, a former member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China and Vice President of the State, and the former top leader of the Communist Party of China’s government and army.
