Berkshire acquired 61.4 million Occidental shares between March 2-4, according to materials submitted to the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) on the night of the 4th. The total number of shares held is 91.2 million, which is close to 10% of the total number of issued shares.
Berkshire also holds stock acquisition rights to acquire 83.9 million Occidental shares for $ 59.62 per share.
The Occidental stock price rose 4.6% to $ 58.77 on the 7th, but has since turned down.
