Berlin Thanks to a record operating profit in the first half of the year, Bertelsmann is increasing its targets for 2021. Earnings (Ebitda) rose from January to June to 1.4 (previous year: 1.0) billion euros, as the Gütersloh media and services group announced on Tuesday . Sales climbed by 10.7 percent to 8.7 billion euros.
“In particular, our three major revenue pillars, RTL Group, Penguin Random House and Arvato, have grown significantly,” said Bertelsmann boss Thomas Rabe. For the year as a whole, the company is assuming that business will continue to develop positively and is now even anticipating almost twice as high a group result, which will be around two billion euros.
