Morelia, Michoacán (OEM-Infomex) .- The authorities alerted citizens to exercise extreme caution when downloading digital applications that offer money loans, as they could be victims of extortion, fraud or other crimes.

After monitoring carried out by the Cyber ​​Police, it was detected that at least 15 apps that provide accessible credits and with few procedures, extract sensitive personal data after the user accepts the terms and conditions. Subsequently, the information is used for illicit activities such as extortion, the State Attorney General’s Office (FGE) reported in a statement.

Among the applications related to these activities are Cash Mobile, Centa Boss, Credi Peso, Lemoney, Listo Cash, Cash Box, Incash, Crediti, I Peso, Mi Cartera, Isi Crédito, Cashbox, Expert, Listo Buy SA de CV y ​​Credits Cell phones.

The FGE specified that it has received 12 complaints so far in August, for which it opened investigation folders. In addition, in order to safeguard the safety and assets of the people, it issued an alert through the Criminal Intelligence Agency.

For this reason, the authority called on the population to protect their information and avoid downloading applications that do not have the support of any financial institution, check their reputation before doing so and, in the event of being a victim of a crime, report in a manner immediately to the number 800 890 81 06 of the Cybernetic Police.
