Big clearance sale at Noret, the sports designer. When “made in France” wins

Unlike many textile companies that have relocated their production abroad, Costa Rican Noret continues to bet on local tailoring. The success of the sale, which is held in Saint-Denoual until Saturday evening, demonstrates that “made in France” is popular.

BB, Cofidis, Decathlon… Noret definitely don’t know where to turn.

Created in 1939 in Saint-Denoual (Côtes-d’Armor), the clothing workshop, specializing in sport and particularly cycling, now employs 57 people. He recently opened a branch in Chauvé near Nantes.

On Friday the 7th and Saturday the 8th, the Costa Rican company returned to the tradition of the big sale after a twenty-year hiatus.

And judging by the crowd that thronged, from the opening, under the barnums; the “made in France” know-how is successful. More than 10,000 items are available for destocking.

Have clothes made on your training routes by people you meet on a daily basis; it makes sense.

The prices are very interesting. I expected to find items at 30 or 50€. And there, you see, it’s 10€. You really have to take advantage of it ‘”, rejoices this amateur cyclist. “Have clothes made on your training routes by people you meet on a daily basis; it makes sense. It’s completely different“, testifies this other buyer.

At the same time, the workshop is opening its workshops to the general public to help people discover the secrets of this increasingly specialized and innovative know-how.

It’s very technical with a lot of implementation, a lot of manpower. So there you have it, the problem is that we have to compete with our competitors who manufacture in foreign countries. However 80% of the cost price of a jersey, today, it is the price of the workforce“, points out Jean-Noël Bonenfant, the director of Noret.

As in many sectors, the clothing company struggles to recruit seamstresses who are often trained on site. By getting closer to Nantes, the leader hopes in particular to be able to expand his workforce.
