Bones of a human were unearthed at a construction site in Wavre.

A small gas connection site managed by Ores discovered human bones behind the Saint Jean-Baptiste church, place de la Cure. The proper authorities were contacted, and upon investigation, the excavation site was found to be within the boundary of the old parish cemetery, so further archaeological excavation or legal action was unnecessary. Construction will proceed as usual but with the area being secured, and the human bones will be handled by the City’s gravediggers, who will place them in the Wavre ossuary according to the existing process.
