The heads of the Cameroonian and Congolese delegations signed, on Wednesday August 31, 2022, in Yaoundé, documents which will serve as a legal basis for the demarcation of their common land border. It will be a question of reconstructing the border drawn since the long colonization of 460 km which separates the two countries. From Thursday to Saturday, experts from the two countries will travel to the border area of ​​Ntam, in eastern Cameroon, in order to effectively begin to delimit this land border. During the 1st meeting of the technical sub-committee held on Tuesday, the Cameroonian Minister of Territorial Administration, Paul Atanga Nji, and the Director General of the Territorial Administration of the Republic of Congo, Jacques Essissongo, stressed the importance that the heads of state of the two countries, Paul Biya and Denis Sassou Nguesso, agree to this project aimed at promoting bilateral cooperation.
