Boris Johnson und Carrie Johnson
She loaned her wedding dress for just under 50 euros
British Prime Minister Boris Johnson married his fiancée Carrie Symonds. The wedding dress was a real bargain.
In a secret wedding, the British Prime Minister Boris Johnson (56) said yes to his fiancée Carrie Symonds (33) on May 29 in London’s Westminster Cathedral. A spokesman for the prime minister told the “BBC”that it was a “little ceremony” on Saturday afternoon. According to the report, he is the first UK Prime Minister to marry during his tenure in nearly 200 years.
The politician is therefore already back at work. And Johnson is still a long way from driving or flying on his honeymoon. The spokesman confirmed that the prime minister wanted to hold a large wedding celebration with family and friends in the summer of 2022. Then it should also go on the honeymoon.
The bride wore a dress by Christos Costarellos
The wedding dress from Symonds, which takes her husband’s last name, was designed by designer Christos Costarellos. According to a report by the British Daily Mail This is said to cost the equivalent of more than 3,300 euros, but the bride borrowed the wedding dress for only about 52 euros. She was “very, very happy,” said the 33-year-old on the evening of the wedding day.
There were just 30 guests according to the “Mail on Sunday” on the weekend on site. This also corresponds to the current regulations that currently apply due to the corona pandemic in Great Britain. It is not officially known who was invited to the wedding. Johnson’s brother Leo is said to have been the best man, according to the Daily Mail. Other Johnson siblings and the spouses’ mothers were also allegedly there. Apparently it was celebrated in summer in the garden of the world-famous 10 Downing Street, as MP James Cleverly (51) with a picture on Twitter shows.
The couple announced their engagement last year, and in 2020 their son Wilfred Lawrie Nicholas Johnson saw the light of day. It is Johnson’s third marriage, having previously been married to Marina Wheeler and Allegra Mostyn-Owen.
