BVB helps itself with a clever injection of finance!
Even if that does not make the whereabouts of striker Erling Haaland (21) more likely after the season – through the capital increase, the listed Pott-Klub is getting fresh money, financially sailing again in calmer waters after the stresses of the corona pandemic!
► The clever move: Borussia brings around 18.4 million new shares onto the market. Cost per piece: 4.70 euros. That makes a total of around 86.5 million euros.
Anyone who already owns five shares may acquire a new share. Boss Hans-Joachim Watzke (62): “This capital increase represents a major milestone for Borussia Dortmund to overcome the previous economic burden of the pandemic.”
Very important: BVB is already guaranteed a full placement and thus the entire mega-amount before the shares are issued (September 20 to October 4).
In the 2020/21 financial year, Dortmund suffered a loss in sales of EUR 75 million due to the pandemic. Now the fresh coal is helping to stabilize BVB.
