Boston: Enes Kanter and Semi Olejeye remain for the moment, Brad Wanamaker is not selected

While everyone is discussing this player option at $ 34 million declined by Gordon Hayward, the franchise decided to send Vincent Poirier to the Thunder, but also not to offer a qualifying offer by Brad Wanamaker, making him an unprotected free agent, and activating the 1.8 million Semi Ojeleye option for next year. However, the latter’s salary will not be guaranteed until tomorrow and the Boston Globe Imagine him going on a transfer by then, probably only to get cut afterwards.

For his part, Enes Kanter chose to activate his player option at $ 5 million in order to stay in Massachusetts for one more season – if he does not transfer. This will also be the amount of Daniel Theis’ salary if the Celtics don’t cut it by tomorrow.

In the rookie department, while waiting to sign the new ones (Aaron Nesmith, Payton Prtichard and Yam Madar), Boston offered Tacko Fall and Tremont Waters a qualifying offer, at 1.5 million each, to make them protected free agents.

Danny Ainge now has all the information he needs for the free agency that starts tonight …

Qualifying offer : Proposal made by a franchise to one of its players in the last year of his rookie contract. Based on his old salary, this offer allows the player to be extended for one year and to match any offer made to the player by another franchise. If the player does not return to his team in the year of qualifying offer, he is automatically free next season, and his team will then not be able to match an offer.

Player option : possibility for a player to activate (or not) the last year of his contract, in order to end his lease or to become a “free agent” one year in advance.
