Bowers & Wilkins launches PX7 S2 Bluetooth headphones

Bowers & Wilkins is launching a new pair of wireless headphones. It bears the model name PX7 S2 and, as the name suggests, is the successor of the PX7 presented in autumn 2019. The new version is characterized, among other things, by the hi-res drivers positioned diagonally in the ear cups, the British manufacturer of luxury audio devices reports. They ensure that the distance to the user’s ear is the same at every point. This creates “a more natural and spatial sound stage”.

The PX7 S2 also has improved microphones. The manufacturer mentions 6 of them: 2 measure the output power of each driver, 2 react to ambient noise and 2 ensure calls without interference using improved noise reduction. In the statement, Bowers & Wilkins promises “excellent voice quality for calls.” Excellent performance is guaranteed even in noisy environments. In fact, the previous model Px7 was criticized for insufficient voice quality when making calls, for example in the test by “PCWelt.de”.

The further developed microphones should also improve noise-cancelling performance, Bowers & Wilkins promises. It suppresses unwanted background noise without impairing the music quality.

The Px7 S2 weighs 307 grams, which is 3 grams lighter than the previous model Px7 Carbon Edition according to a comparison of the technical data. According to Bowers & Wilkins, the device will be available from July. The Swiss RRP is 465 francs.

Incidentally, this year should not stop with this headphone innovation. The PX8 model will also be launched in the course of 2022, writes Bowers & Wilkins, which was bought by the US company Sound United almost two years ago.
