A two-year-old boy fell into a biotope in Altmünster (Gmunden district) on Tuesday afternoon. He was flown to the hospital under resuscitation conditions, where he unfortunately died a little later.

“A two-year-old toddler was playing around noon on March 29, 2022 under the supervision of his 40-year-old mother in the house’s own garden, which was enclosed by a living fence, in the sandbox there. During this time, the mother briefly left the garden and fetched something from the house. When she immediately When she returned, she was unable to find her son and immediately started looking for him with the help of her neighbors.Since she couldn’t find him immediately, they called the police.A patrol was in the immediate vicinity and an immediate search was launched in the surrounding gardens. In one of the neighboring gardens, where there was a biotope built up with boards that was difficult to see into, the toddler was found floating in the water and immediately resuscitated until the emergency doctor arrived.The emergency doctor helicopter Christophorus 10 flew the two-year-old to Med Campus IV of Kepler University Hospital in Linz, where he tragically died around 2:30 p.m.,” reports t the police.
