Bravely Default 2 : Test du jeu sur Nintendo Switch – Breakflip

Bravely Default 2 releases this February 26 for Nintendo Switch, but we got to preview the game and here’s our take on the title.

Bravely Default 2 is a new licensed game of the same name which debuted in 2012 on Nintendo 3DS.

Starting from Friday February 26, players will be able to discover the adventures of Seth, Gloria, Elvis and Adele, the four heroes of the title. In the meantime, you can find our test and our opinion on this game.

Very enjoyable old-fashioned gameplay

In Bravely Default 2, don’t expect a gameplay revolution since the game follows the model of the old JRPGs with turn-based combat.

However, you have the option of using two commands ” Brave “And” Default ».

  • The first allows you to chain several actions on the same turn, but beware of backlash if you don’t have enough Brave points
  • As for the second, you go into on-call mode and you can by the way earn Brave points

Another interesting point, you are completely free in your way of choosing the classes of your characters and each will also have a secondary class.

You will therefore be able to use many skills related to the classes you have selected.

Additional activities to enrich yourself

Yes, like in any good JRPG, you will have side activities, but some of them will prove to be quite lucrative.

Dans Bravely Default 2, you will be able to go on a sea expedition outside of your playing hours in order to obtain treasures and rewards.

You can also while exploring clear the tall grass to collect various rewards if you are lucky.

But that’s not all since a card game, a classic in Japanese RPGs, named Barrage and Domination (source) is also available and you need to talk to characters with a map icon above their head to face them.

A well done story and with a good rhythm

Admittedly, the story of Bravely Default 2 is not revolutionary, but the side dialogues and its pace of progress does not tire quickly.

In addition, as and when you will learn more about all the members of the group and uncover some of their past secrets.

In conclusion, Bravely Default 2 remains in the vein of the old Japanese RPGs, however, everything that revolves around the game, the activities, the customization and the story takes the title off the rails and thus offers a very good game.
