Today the Rockets and the Bucks completed the transaction. The Rockets traded PJ Tucker, Rodions Kurucs and the first round picks of 2022 to the Bucks in exchange for DJ-Augustin, DJ Wilson and the unprotected first round picks of 2023. In addition, if the Bucks’ first-round pick in 2021 is not in the top 10 picks in the first round, then the Rockets will have the right to use their second-round pick to exchange for the Bucks’ first-round pick.

PJ Tucker has played for the Rockets for the last four seasons. He played in 32 games this season, averaging 4.4 points and 4.6 rebounds per game, shooting 36.6% from the field and 31.4% from the three-point range. A week ago, after the Rockets lost to the Kings and suffered a 14-game losing streak, the Rockets head coach announced that PJ Tucker would no longer play for the Rockets.
This season is PJ Tucker’s contract year. His salary is close to 8 million. In 2017, he signed a 4-year 32 million contract with the Rockets. A reporter previously broke the news that PJ Tucker wanted a two-year, $24 million fully guaranteed renewal contract, but the Rockets did not agree.
In addition, the Bucks also traded defensive wing Torrey Craig to the Suns, the main reason is to clear the salary.
