Consumers will be able to purchase shopping vouchers in increments of 25 euros via a website. For each voucher purchased, the customer will obtain an increase of 20% paid by the City of Brussels and paid to the merchant.
Lhe City of Brussels announced on Saturday the launch of “BXL-boncadeau”, a consumer voucher increased by 20% in order to support local shops.
“The objective of this action is to encourage our fellow citizens to consume locally and to support local businesses which do their utmost to satisfy us despite the health crisis. The end-of-year celebrations are fast approaching, so this is an opportunity to show solidarity with local traders and artisans ”, explains in a press release the alderman of Commerce of the City of Brussels, Fabian Maingain, to the origin of the initiative.
Interested traders are invited to register via the website www.commercelocal.brussels. A communication campaign will also be launched to Brussels merchants to inform them of the initiative.
