The first chance for an end to the blockade of Sofia will be after the formation of the new Bulgarian government, said today the special representative of the Republic of Northern Macedonia for Bulgaria Vlado Buckovski for the site “360 degrees”.
Buckovski said the idea of the Macedonian Foreign Ministry, which was also adopted by the Bulgarian Foreign Ministry, is to adopt a document at a joint government conference, which Skopje hopes will be convened as soon as possible, BTA reported.
He added that the action plan between the two countries is 99 per cent ready, giving hope for a government conference in the next few weeks to create the right atmosphere ahead of talks the prime minister of the Republic of Northern Macedonia hopes to hold in May or June the formation of a new Bulgarian government.
“I think we have a chance to make progress this year. There is a real chance to reach a compromise because we are close to finding a solution that will be acceptable to both sides,” Buckovski said.
