A passenger bus fell into the Lasbela Gorge in Balochistan province, killing 41 people in the crash, the newspaper said. Dawn Assistant Commissioner Lasbela Hamza Anjum.
Mr. Anjum told the publication that the bus was carrying about 48 passengers, traveling from the city of Quetta to Karachi. According to Mr. Anjum, the car crashed into the bridge support due to speeding, after which it lurched into the gorge and caught fire.
The assistant commissioner said that at least three people managed to get off the bus, including a woman with a child, but one of the victims died on the way to the hospital from his injuries. He added that the bodies of the dead, recovered from the burned-out bus, cannot be identified without DNA analysis.
