Call of Duty Warzone enables 120 fps on Xbox Series X and leaves PS5 behind. Although the launch of Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War has already taken place, Infinity War will continue to work on Call of Duty Warzone, which will feature shared progression alongside Treyarch’s title.
This has led to the Californian studio having already enabled a series of improvements for the new generation consoles, and that is Call of Duty Warzone enable 120fps on Xbox Series X and leave PS5 behind, Well, the Sony console has not received such support, at least for the moment.
This information has been known thanks to a comparison made by Digital Foundry, which has been the one that has confirmed that Warzone works at 120 fps on Xbox Series X, while the PlayStation 5 version is limited to 60 fps. The medium has tried a variety of methods to triple check Warzone’s fps on PS5, and in all of them the game runs at 60fps, whether you opt for quality mode or performance mode.
At the moment, neither Activision nor Infinity Ward have commented nothing on this, so we can only speculate as to why the companies have not yet announced 120fps support for their shooter on Xbox Series X. Something that certainly contrasts with the line taken by Bungie, for example, that announced Destiny 2 at 120fps on next-gen consoles this week.
However, it is possible that due to the release of Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, Activision do not want to divert attention from the title developed by Treyarch, and announce in the coming weeks 120 fps support on Xbox Series X.
Call of Duty: Warzone is available now for Xbox One, Xbox Series X | S, PS4, PS5, and PC.
