A four-year-old girl was alone in the bus in the city of Schaffhausen on Monday. Instead of waiting for the father after kindergarten, the child left alone on Monday lunchtime. The girl could later be handed over to her parents safely.
Shortly before 1 p.m., an attentive chauffeur from the transport company reported to the Schaffhausen police that a little girl had been riding on his bus for some time, without an accompanying person, as stated in the notification from the Schaffhausen cantonal police on Monday. A patrol was then called up.
The police officers were able to safely hand the four-year-old girl over to her parents later in the afternoon after extensive investigations. The police were faced with linguistic challenges, it said.
As it turned out, after kindergarten the girl had not waited for her father to pick her up. Instead, the four-year-old made her way home alone. The child lost its orientation in the process. The girl could now celebrate her birthday tomorrow with the family, wrote the police.
