the essential
Tours on Sundays, tourists are invited to join the tourist office to share a moment of conviviality around local products… but after watching a short film promoting the area. The opportunity to get to know our beautiful Lauragais better.

The summer season is in full swing in the world capital of cassoulet and the inter-municipal tourist office has been hard at work since the beginning of summer.

Seasonal workers are on hand to be able to welcome tourists in the best conditions and help them discover the most beautiful places in the city and in Lauragais. From the Moulin du Cugarel to the threshold of Naurouze via the collegiate church of St Michel and the presidial museum, there is something for everyone. Without forgetting the Canal du Midi and our fabulous large basin. Odile is also on deck at the harbor master’s office to watch over the port and its river tourists.

It is in this summer atmosphere that the tourist office has launched since Sunday July 10 the summer aperitifs. The concept is simple, every Sunday from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. tourists are invited to join the interior of the tourist office to share a moment of conviviality around local products. Of course, before being able to have an aperitif , a small film promoting the territory is broadcast to the tourists present, all the tour guides, maps and good addresses are also included. Every week, a merchant from the city comes to present his products and offer the public a free tasting of local products.

The first aperitif began with Christophe Hernandez from the delicatessen “Chez Christophe” who came to introduce our tourists to the fine charcuterie of which he holds all the secrets and wines and sweet drinks of local origin. A season launched with taste and conviviality which will continue until the end of August.

So meet every Sunday at your inter-municipal tourist office to taste the good products specially chosen to showcase our territory.
