Today, the CD Projekt studio celebrates its 20th anniversary. The dads of The Witcher in video games and Cyberpunk 2077 wanted to share their birthday with the community while revealing valuable information.

The Witcher: how many sales for the series?
Via its social networks, CD Projekt has announced that it is celebrating its twentieth anniversary. For the occasion, the Polish studio has put online a timeline with major dates (creation of the studio, release of the various games, acquisition of a studio, launch of WitcherCon). Players are even invited to post their photo memories on the site. In a press release, CD Projekt even gave an update on the sales of the series:
The Witcher series of video games – popularized by The Witcher 3 : The Wild Hunt – has distributed 65 million copies.
A number that should not stop soon: at the end of March, the Polish studio announced a new opus The Witcher and the beginning of a new saga. This next title is produced in partnership with Epic Games, and will run on the Unreal Engine 5.
Cyberpunk 2077: what is the expansion release date?
Obviously, CD Projekt does not put aside its other flagship license: Cyberpunk 2077. Announced in 2012, the game was finally released in December 2020 with a mixed reception: very convincing on PC, the title had not hit the mark on consoles due to lack of technical optimization. Since then, the developers have tried to “fix” the title with massive patch notes and a 1.5 update made for the PlayStation 5 and the Xbox Series. But the studio still has plans regarding the license:
Cyberpunk 2077, the studio’s latest production, has become a globally recognized franchise, giving birth to its own animated series created in collaboration with Studio Trigger and landing on Netflix next September. In addition, CD Projekt is currently working on an expansion for the game, scheduled for 2023.
