The Federal Electricity Commission (CFE) is prepared to attend to the possible affectations of the electricity supply in the states of Guerrero, Michoacán, Colima and Jalisco due to the passage of hurricane rick.

The CFE he specified that to give attention to possible damages for him hurricane rick 1,0104 electrical workers, 192 cranes, 405 vehicles, 50 emergency plants, 18 lighting towers and 2 helicopters have been arranged, located at strategic points.
The CFE reported that it has specific plans for the emergency care, whose purpose is to establish adequate mechanisms for timely decision-making in the event of an impact on the electricity supply caused by natural phenomena such as hurricane rick.
“According to the trajectory forecast and the radii of influence of the winds reported by the National Meteorological System, it is estimated that tropical cyclone Rick, in its hurricane stage, will strengthen as it will move towards the coasts of Guerrero and Michoacán” .

The CFE disclosed that personnel carry out the following activities:
- Permanent monitoring of the evolution of the hurricane rick
- Identification of the areas of probable impact of the meteorological phenomenon
- Implementation of Strategic Operation Centers for timely decision making, positioned in key points of the country
- Identification of users whose service is essential for the community (hospitals, gas stations, pumping systems) to give priority of attention.
The CFE stated that it is already in full coordination with the Ministry of National Defense, the Ministry of the Navy, the National Water Commission, the Ministry of Health, Civil Protection, state and municipal governments, for the attention of the possible contingency by the hurricane rick.
The hurricane rick, category 1 in the Pacific Ocean, is approaching the central Pacific coast of Mexico and will generate extraordinary occasional rains in Guerrero and Michoacán, as well as intense rains in Colima, southern Jalisco and western Oaxaca.
Very heavy rains are also expected in the southwest of the State of Mexico and Morelos due to this meteorological phenomenon.
