You can now check with your RUT if you are a member of the table in the plebiscite of September 4. The local table where you will have to pay is also available, in a mandatory process.

This Saturday the Electoral Service (Servel) published the first payroll table vowelsahead of the plebiscite on September 4, together with information on the places where it will be paid.

It must be taken into account that most of the venues changed, according to the new proximity criterion. That is, they will be assigned nearest premises al electoral domicile.

Citizens can review these records at the Consultation of electoral data from the Servel websiteto exercise their right to vote, a process that on this occasion is mandatory.

What is a table vowel?

The members of the table are the voters designated by an Electoral Board to fulfill the functions of receiving the votes cast by the voters and carrying out the first count. They are 5 and they must constitute the polling station the day before the election.

The members appointed by the Electoral Boards, will exercise said function for four years, acting in all the electoral or plebiscitary acts that are verified, until before the next ordinary election for which they were appointed.

In Chile, the members must present themselves on Saturday, September 3, at 3:00 p.m., to constitute their voting tables. On Sunday, September 4, from 7:30 a.m., the tables will be set up and they will begin receiving voters from 8:00 a.m.

The tables in the national territory will close at 6:00 p.m. and as long as there is no voter waiting to vote.

Persons who do not attend to perform their duties as a member of the polling station, incur an electoral infraction, which is sanctioned with a fine for municipal benefit.

How can I excuse myself from being vocal?

Those who have been elected table members, but are in any of the causes contemplated by law 18,700 to excuse themselves from fulfilling that role, will have a term from Tuesday 16 to Thursday 18 August.

Excuses must be formulated in writing before the secretary of the respective Electoral Board.

On Saturday, August 20, meanwhile, the lists of replacement members for Vote Receiving Tables and members of Scrutinizing Colleges will be published.

What are the grounds for excusing?

– The member must be included among the causes of incapacity contemplated in article 45 of the Law No. 18,700 or have been designated a member of the Scrutinizing College.

– Being absent from the country or residing in a locality more than 300 kilometers away or with which there are no expeditious communications, a fact that will be qualified by the respective Electoral Board.

– Having to perform, on the same days and hours of operation of the Tables, other functions entrusted by Law No. 18,700, such as being a proxy for the table.

– Be over 60 years of age.

– Being physically or mentally unable to perform the function, a circumstance that must be accredited with a medical certificate.

– Carry out work in hospital establishments on the same days that the Vote Receiving Tables operate.

– Treat pregnant people throughout the pregnancy period. The father or mother of a son or daughter under two years of age will also be considered on the day the receiving tables are open.

– Those who work as caregivers for older adults or people with special needs, dependency or disabilities, and those who work in long-stay facilities for older adults (Eleam).

– Additionally, the corresponding excuses may be accredited before the Local Delegate on the day of the plebiscite, or before the Local Police Judge if they are summoned later.
