Heo Chan-mi revealed that her parents were singers.
On MBC’s ‘Tongue Mixed Martial Arts Set Chih’, which aired on the 9th (Tuesday), Heo Chan-mi of ‘Jungkkeok, Seth Chih’ unraveled the story under the theme of ‘the surprising secret of her birth that she learned after turning to trot’.
Heo Chan-mi said, “I’ve been an idol for over 10 years. Since she had only been an idol for a long time, she had a hard time at first after she switched to trot. But when she closed her eyes and tried it, she was good at trot. She’s easygoing,” she revealed, and it was fate that got her to trot.
“Trot DNA was flowing through me,” said Heo Chan-mi. “My father, a winner of the 1st Seoul International Music Festival, worked as a singer and composer for Seorabul Code in the past, and my mother also worked under Jigu Records before moving to Seorabul Code. While her mother was preparing for a new album, she had a connection with her father, and the two of them worked together as a duet called ‘Hope for Both’,” he added.

However, during the lesson, she told the news that her mother was seeing a doctor and her father asked her mother’s sister for help, saying, ‘Please stop standing.’ Her maternal grandfather, who knew the truth about her, objected, holding her by the collar, saying that she would not be allowed to marry Tantara. The father waited for two years and six months with a guitar in front of her mother’s window. He said that even on a very cold winter day, his eyebrows turned white because he did that. Her maternal grandfather saw that and said to her father that he would give permission if she became a pastor, and in that way, her father gave up being a singer and composer and went to seminary to become a pastor.”
Heo Chan-mi said, “My father loves music, and while thinking about how to repay his support, I thought I should sing the song I wanted to sing on behalf of my father, so I participated in the trot audition. Thanks to my dad, he seems to have found the genre that suits me,” she said.
