Early in the new year, the presidential election in South Korea became a big fuss. On January 3, the main members of the Election Countermeasures Committee, with the “People Power Party” of the largest conservative opposition, announced their resignation.

The candidate for the presidential election for “People’s Power” is Yoon Seok-you, the former prosecutor’s president. It has been reported that there is a feud between Mr. Yoon and Mr. Lee Jun-seok, the representative of “People Power Party,” but the conflict with Lee’s aides has finally surfaced. Along with that, Lee’s theory of responsibility has also emerged.

In response to this, Lee Jae-myung, a candidate for the ruling Democratic Party of Korea, is attacking with statements such as “When the election is won, the Korean economy will grow dramatically.” So far, the approval ratings of the two have been competing in the 30% range, but for Lee, this is a unique opportunity to raise the approval ratings.

The situation surrounding Yoon candidate was predictable to some extent. This is because there were various uncertainties before becoming an official candidate.
