Clemente Condado Escamilla, director of the Acayucan DIF, is executed in a public event – ​​El Financiero

In the midst of a public event, an armed man murdered Clemente Nagazaqui Escamilla Countypresident of the DIF of Acayucan, Veracruz.

The victim had worked in the former Veracruz Attorney General’s Office. Escamilla County was at an event organized by a Civil Association and in which the majority of the attendees were women.

The events occurred in the “Los Manguitos” room in the municipality of Acayucan and according to the first testimonies the attack was directly against the deceased.

Given these events, an operation was launched by the State Public Security Secretariat to find those responsible.

“Derived from the report to the 911 emergency line about a man injured with a firearm, in an event registered in the Barrio Tamarindo neighborhood, in the city of Acayucan, the Ministry of Public Security activated the Red Code Operation for the search and location of the alleged aggressor,” reported the Ministry of Public Security.

For its part, the State Attorney General’s Office confirmed the death and indicated the start of an investigation folder to clarify the facts.

“The State Attorney General’s Office reports that an investigation folder was started for the events in which the President of the municipal DIF of Acayucan, Clemente Nagasaki Condado, lost his life,” the FGE indicated.


Homicides in Veracruz

Of the 51 thousand 294 homicides committed at the national level in 2021, 2 thousand 267 occurred in Veracruzaccording to figures from the Executive Secretariat of the National Public Security System.

The month with the highest number of cases in the state was January with 232, followed by May with 207, March with 203 and December with 202.

Until March 2022, they have been committed 485 crimes of this type according to figures from the State Attorney General’s Office. The trend has been upward, since 155 were registered in January, 132 in February and 198 in March.
