This is information that many were impatiently awaiting, even if, in fact, it does not change much for the future. Cole Caufield will don sweater # 44 with the Laval Rocket.
Newly signed by the Canadian, the team’s 2019 first-round pick will begin its professional career in the American League very soon.
The first to react quickly made the connection between Caufield and Stéphane Richer, the last scorer of 50 goals of the Canadian, who also sported this number during his years in Montreal. Interestingly, no one has talked about Roman Hamrlik, who also wore it to Montreal between 2007 and 2011.
We’re getting ready for the brand new # 44, @colecaufield

Since # 44 is occupied by Joel Edmundson in Montreal, one is entitled to wonder what will Caufield do when he makes the jump with the big club. His University of Wisconsin # 8 is also busy, thanks to Ben Chiarot. Moreover, he will not wear it in Laval because Josh Brook is already the holder.
By the way, 4 + 4 = 8. It’ll do the job in the meantime.
