Fire in Cologne subway station
Köln – According to initial information, several people were injured in a fire in the subway station at Ebertplatz in Cologne early on Saturday afternoon.
The alarm at 2:19 p.m. at the fire brigade. Dozens of emergency vehicles raced to the scene of the fire, and rescuers blocked the train station. A KVB line 18 train had caught fire, according to the fire department spokesman, a cable could have burned.

The flames were extinguished shortly after firefighters arrived. What caused the fire on the train has not yet been finally clarified. According to the fire department, around five people were injured, some of whom had to be treated in hospital.
Lines 12, 15, 16 and 18 operate with restrictions or have been temporarily suspended. According to the police, all streets in the Ebertplatz area were also closed.
