In the midst of the worst crisis in commercial aviation due to the coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19), the Transportation Commission of the Congress of the Republic approved by majority this Tuesday a bill that declares the creation of a national airline of interest .

Initially the Draft Law 6153/2020-CR, had the approach to create the flag airline, presented by Congressman Luis Simeón Hurtado (Popular Action).

In the process of debate, the text was modified eliminating the investment amount proposal and remaining as a declaration of interest. However, in the legislative proposal changes are proposed in the law that regulates commercial aviation, which paves the way for the creation of the flag line.

The legislators who supported the project were: Luis Simeón Hurtado and Manuel Merino (Popular Action); Robledo Gutarra Ramos and Richard Rubio Gariza (Frepap); Eduardo Acate Coronel and Alexander Hidalgo Zamalloa (Alliance for Progress)

Also, Carlos Fernández Chacón (Frente Amplio), Robinson Gupioc (Podemos Peru) and María Bartolo Romero (New Constitution). He voted alone against Mártires Lizana (Popular Force).
