Of the Continental insurance association reports growth in premium income from direct business of 4.2 percent to EUR 4.35 billion for 2021. “As in the previous year, all lines of business contributed to this development, especially life insurance in the past financial year.”

According to the company, the investment portfolio rose by 3.9 percent to 25.40 billion euros, the investment result by 2.6 percent to 633 million euros.
The group’s gross profit is estimated at 750 million euros. After deducting income-related taxes, the gross profit is EUR 686 million.
In the life insurance segment, where the association is also active in Austria, premium income increased by 8.7 percent to 1.37 billion euros. Continentale Lebensversicherung AG increased its premium income by 11.3 percent to EUR 998 million. Europa Lebensversicherung AG recorded premium income of EUR 372 million (+2.3 percent).
