Neal H. Moritz, Toby Ascher and Toru Nakahara produce the picture, while Hajime Satomi, Haruki Satomi and Tim Miller produce.

Based on Sega’s popular video game franchise, the first film released in February this year tells the story of the world’s fastest hedgehog as he embraces his new home on Earth. Sonic (voiced by Ben Schwartz) and his new best friend Tom (played by James Marsden) team up to save the planet from the evil genius Dr. Defend Robotnik (Jim Carrey) while planning world domination. The family-friendly picture also shows Tika Sumpter.

When released, “Sonic the Hedgehog” had the first ever opening weekend for a video game-based film and boasted the fourth-best debut on Presidents Day weekend.
