Saudi Arabia on Monday announced its decision to invest nearly $ 10.4 billion in environmental and economic initiatives, a few days before the start of COP26 in Scotland.
“We are working to create an investment fund with circular economy technologies in the region,” Crown Prince Mohammed Ben Salman told Riyadh during the “Middle East Green Initiative Summit”.
He also mentioned that a “global initiative to find solutions for clean fuels (…)” would be launched.
MBS has, moreover, specified that these two projects should cost nearly 10.4 billion dollars. Saudi Arabia is aiming for carbon neutrality by 2060, a principle which consists in achieving by various means a balance between emissions and removals of greenhouse gases of human origin.
