Bavaria is gradually loosening the corona restrictions. Since May 11th all shops, zoos, libraries and museums in Bavaria have been allowed to reopen. Here is an overview of the further easing that will apply from today – and which restrictions remain for the time being.
More students can go back to school
From now on, students in the lower grades can go back to school: first graders, fifth graders in middle schools and fifth and sixth graders in junior high schools and high schools.
This is the third stage in the resumption of classroom instruction. The pupils in the final grades have been back since the end of April, followed by the pupils who will graduate next year and the fourth grades.
Students of all other grades should then return to schools after the Pentecost holidays, from June 15th. Emergency care is still running in the daycare centers.
Outdoor catering such as beer gardens can open
A gradual opening of the catering trade is planned. The beginning will be the outdoor catering on Monday. Beer gardens are then allowed to open until 8 p.m. Strict requirements should apply: a limited number of guests, ensuring distance and the development of hygiene concepts by the companies.
Under similar conditions, from May 25th dining restaurants will also be allowed to open their interior – until a maximum of 10 p.m. Guests do not have to wear mouth and nose protection at the table, but should put it on when using the toilet and entering the restaurant.
Culture: Museums are open, cinemas and theaters remain closed
The impatience in the art and culture scene is growing. Museums have been allowed to open since May 11, subject to conditions. Cinemas and theaters must remain closed.
According to art minister Bernd Sibler, it is clearly time for a fresh start in art and culture. Musicians and actors wanted to get back on stage. That is why, as chairman of the Conference of Ministers of Education, he developed a concept and presented it to the Chancellor. According to Sibler, the prime ministers want to discuss this on May 20.
Hotels remain closed
A possible opening of hotels, holiday apartments and campsites is planned for the Pentecost weekend (May 30th). So far, however, this has not yet been decided. The same applies to other offers in tourism, such as maritime shipping, castles and amusement parks.
Contact regulations in Bavaria remain the same
In Bavaria, the following still applies: Several members of two households can meet in both private and public spaces.
