Coronavirus: in Cholet and La Roche-sur-Yon, a curfew from Monday 23 March

While in many cities, the containment measures implemented since Tuesday, March 17 are not rigorously respected, Gilles Bourdouleix, mayor of Cholet, decided to impose a curfew
Any movement on foot or by vehicle will be prohibited between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m.

The measure will take effect on Monday March 23. It will be applicable until midnight Tuesday March 31, renewable if necessary.

In a press release, the mayor of Cholet explained the introduction of a curfew in reaction to the lack of discipline of some citizens.
“We all notice that the application and the respect of the general confinement are not rigorous enough.”

Protect from a deadly virus

“I regularly receive reports by email, telephone and social networks. I want some Choletais to realize that it is absolutely essential to protect yourself and others from a deadly virus, added Gilles Bourdouleix, iIt is my duty, as mayor, to take responsibility and protect people. “

Like any rule, curfew has its exceptions. Staff authorized to travel due to the essential nature of their mission, such as the health, safety and sanitation professions, or even municipal services, will be able to continue traveling between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. Those who demonstrate compelling necessity will also be excused.

In La Roche-sur-Yon, curfew from 8 p.m.

The town hall of La Roche-sur-Yon has also decided to introduce a curfew for the period from 23 to 31 March. In the Vendée prefecture, driving between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. will be prohibited.

Only essential business travel or for reasons of health, imperative family or in the event of assistance to a vulnerable person will be authorized.

In France, many municipalities such as Nice, Montpellier, Perpignan and Arras have decided to tighten the movement rules for people in the face of the indiscipline of a certain number of their inhabitants.
