Coronavirus: slightly higher risks in children with asthma, study finds

“Children with asthma have been found to be at a higher risk of hospitalization for Covid-19 (…) than those without asthma”, according to study conducted using Scottish health data public and published in the Lancet Respiratory Medicine.

The authors measured, retrospectively, the proportion of hospitalizations following coronavirus infection among 5-17 year olds who have been diagnosed with asthma in the past. They compared it with the frequency of these hospitalizations in non-asthmatics.
